MIMA South America is the original, founding division of MIMA Foundation. It was started in 1995 by a group of doctors who wanted to make a difference. The group primarily focuses on Bolivia and some of the outlying regions. Every year, they raise money and fly to Bolivia to perform surgeries for those who do not have access to such medical care. They work hands on with the people for several weeks.
They bring exuberent volunteers with them, regardless of medical training, as well as all necessary supplies. Their goal is to better the lives of the people of Bolivia not so much through monetary donations, but through action.
