About Mima Uganda
The quality of life in Uganda is bleak. Villages struggle to supply themselves with enough clean water and food. Children don't have shoes and families can barely keep clothed. But through the dirt floors and poverty lies a spirit that can't be denied. The amount of love and gratitude given by these people each and every day should be a lesson to us all. Mima Foundation began sending aid to Uganda four years ago. Their help came in the form of financial support. Every year, those involved with Mima Africa run fundraisers or donate money build and renovate schools and churches, provide water tanks to harvest clean water off the newly constructed roofs, provide a hot lunch for schoolchildren, wire schools for electricity and provide microloans to families to start or improve small businesses. The goal of MIMA Africa is two fold. First, they want to create jobs by hiring local people to do the work such as building housing and water sanitation systems. Second, MIMA Africa wants to better the quality of life in Uganda by helping them help themselves. MIMA Uganda brings only financial support. They look at the basic needs of the people, calculate how much it will cost to fulfill these needs, and hire locals to bring their plans to fruition. MIMA Africa is headed by Dr. Norberto Benitez and it is he, along with one or two other people, who brings the money to Uganda to see that the projects are in progress. If you would like to volunteer for MIMA Uganda, you can donate HERE or you can do a fundraiser. If you opt to run a fundraiser, please email Dr. Benitez at .......... so that he and his team can help to get you started. Thank you for your interest in MIMA Foundation! |
